5 THINGS STOPPING YOU FROM MAKING MORE MONEY

Money matters.

It’s ignorant to think it doesn’t, just like it’s ignorant to think it’s the most important thing on the planet or that your value as a man is dependent on how much money you earn. That’s just stupid.

Money, however, is a barometer. It’s a tool you can use to measure how good you are at what you do. And thanks to the free market and our supposed meritocracy, there are still pockets of society where your skill can be judged by your pay check.

If the man is firm, confident, gritty, and strong, it can also bring freedom. We all want freedom, be it to do what we want or freedom from the stressors and worries that can come from overdue bills.

Let’s then say you want to earn more money. How do you go about it from an online perspective? How do you actually get rich and eventually wealthy with your habits and who you are daily?

No matter what your line of work this article will provide some guidance and prevent some of the things standing in the way of you and those dollar bills you want more of.

1. You don’t know who you want to be.

How can you know what to buy or where to go or how to act if you don’t know specifically who you want to be?

What makes it worse is how we’re swayed daily by society, by social media, by advertising, and by the opinions of our friends and family.

Define who you want to be. Not just what you want to accomplish, but the man you want to become, the persona you want to have, and what you want to accomplish. Everything that stands in the way of you becoming this guy should be removed from your life.

You shouldn’t spend money that doesn’t further this mission. You shouldn’t want things that don’t push you further.

Clarity is everything. If you don’t know specifically who you want to become, you’re going to be pulled in far too many directions, as will your pursuits and your spending.

2. You’re spending on emotion.

People actually buy things as a form of therapy. They feel down so they spend money. People in poorer countries don’t have that luxury so they’re forced to deal with their problems, which is one explanation for the vastly greater numbers of religious people who are also poor.

When you have to deal with your problems rather than spending money on a thing to give you a moment of bliss or booking a trip to literally escape what ails you, you become tougher, obviously, but you also have more control.

You’re not a victim to your desires like you are when you can spend useless amounts of money on ultimately useless things.

If buying things gives you an emotional high, and if it’s your go to for getting out of a funk, you’re never going to have as much money, freedom, and prosperity as you could have otherwise.

3. You’re not measuring everything.

Keep a ledger and measure everything coming in and everything going out.

You need to know everything about your business and your personal life from an expenses and earnings standpoint.

This is something I’ve had to add to my life and my business simply to understand what’s working, what isn’t, but also to understand my spending habits, which need work.

I learned this lesson both from a pal and a book. Pick up Titan, the biography of John D. Rockefeller. The man was meticulous about his expenses and it was a major factor in him becoming one of the richest men in the world.

4. You’re negative.

How can you win if you’re always looking at the negative side of things?

It won’t happen.

If you consistently see the cup as half empty, it will be. Being negative, even brooding and feeling down, are self-fulfilling prophecies in that our mood dictates our reality.

You can choose to see opportunity within crisis, or you can choose to see the negative side, the downside, pitying yourself when you should be hustling to change your story.

Richest won’t be yours if you’re negative.

5. Your goals are too small.

Big goals create a greater sense of urgency and much greater discipline.

make more moneyIf you fall into the trap of only attempting what you know you can accomplish without much effort, you’re going to be a loser, a mediocre man for your entire life.

Be worthy of a raise, and then ask for one.

Aim to be the best in your niche rather than simply being good.

Dare to do great things, risk the time, effort, money, and emotional investments in great projects rather than the safe projects that don’t require much of you.

Dare mightier. Live harder.

Making a lot of money is partially a matter of thinking beyond the confines of a society that wants us to remain average.

CHANGE YOUR PATH, FRIENDS, AND PERSPECTIVE

It wasn’t in the list, but if you have friends that go against anything we’ve mentioned, odds are you’re going to fall into the same traps.

If your friends spend frivolously, it’s going to be much harder to hang out with them without having the same stuff they have. If they don’t work hard and are happy with where they are, your ambitions will make them feel weird and inadequate.

Think differently, be differently, act differently, and hang out with hustlers, people on the rise, not men who’ll be jealous of your ascension.

Money isn’t always about p’s and q’s, sometimes it’s a matter of having the right worldview and the right friends.
