You’re of no use if people can’t DEPEND ON YOU.

That means you cannot always be dependent on others. You need to be standing tall, standing strong, standing firm with your virtues and convictions.

As men, we need to be hard working, but man, those barbarian virtues that Theodore Roosevelt talked about are VERY important. Being a man, as Jordan Peterson put it, means you aspire to be the guy at your old man’s funeral who others can lean on, depend on. That’s our aspiration. It ain’t easy.

But it’s who we’re here to be.

Get after it.
